Grandparents Rights

Parents have a constitutional right to oversee the custody, care and control of their children (except if the court determines otherwise, such as in the case of a finding of abuse, abandonment or neglect). However, grandparents rights are becoming more and more an issue, and laws regarding grandparents rights continue to evolve on a state level. When a couple divorces, or a parent dies, the question arises whether the grandparents have rights of visitation. In many cases they do. If you are a grandparent or a parent that is concerned about whether the grandparents have the right to see your child, please consult with one of our family law attorneys. We can explain the legalities, offer legal advice and represent you in legal actions appropriate for your situation.
